What we've been up to

Well, I realize that we haven't been updating our blog. I just didn't realize how long it had been! A lot has happened since 2008. I'll just give some highlights of our last two years.

We have a house!

The biggest thing that's happened in the last two years is we built a house! We've almost been in the house for a year. When it was getting built we were up looking at it everyday. It was quite a project but we're very happy about how it turned out. Here are some pictures of our house going up.

We love our neighborhood that we live in. We have great views of the mountains and our neighbors are all great! Here's a picture of our house finished and a picture of our lot when it was empty.

After we were in our house for a couple of months we started the project of doing part of our yard. We spent several months getting it ready for sod and bringing in dirt. I am so glad we are done with the dirt! We only have a few more months and then we can enjoy our yard finally! Here are some pictures of our sprinkler system and what our yard looked like before grass.
Here I am lost in a sea of dirt. We are trying to clear
out most of the rocks to get ready for sprinklers.

Getting Maggie

We've had Maggie our dog for about 2 years now. We got her as a puppie. She's been kind of a handfull at times but she sure has a cute personality. When she was a puppy she was a terror. Our condo got put through the ringer because she would try and chew on everything. We tried that bitter apple stuff that is supposed to taste nasty but she like it. She would lick it up! We now have a remedy for her biting and that is, she and Ellie are in the kennel when we're gone.

Oh Sweet Vacation!!!

We went in August on vacation to Cancun. It was super hot there. Needless to say I got toasted. We tried some new things. We both did a little windsurfing. It was much harder than it looks!

Bad Hair day?

Believe it or not, but my hair sometimes looks like this when I wake up!
This is me Snubadiving in Cancun. That hose is connected to a raft on the surface that has the oxygen in it. It was kind of scary to stop swimming to take the picture because you would sink further down. That's why the psycho eyes. All in all though it was pretty cool. We swam a few feet over a big sea turtle. I guess I shouldn't say we. Poor Casey didn't make it down more than five feet. He's very scared of water and he panicked and took his weights off so he could get to the surface faster. So he had to spend the rest of the time holding on to the raft and looking down from the surface!

Seeing the Sites at Chichen-Itza

This is a pyramid thing in Koba. My dad is terrified of heights and he was gaining on me coming down this thing. It was so high and the steps were uneven. I was so glad when my two feet were on solid ground!

Here's my parents putting on their snorkling gear.

Seeing a Jaguar

Doesn't this look like paradise?!! I wish I was there right now instead of in the cold snow.
We are eating at a great buffet place. My dad's the one casually disquising himself with his shirt!

Winter fun

We went down to SLC and saw the beautiful Christmas lights. Here's some of our favorite pictures from there.
